Subtropical Drosera

The subtropical sundew is a carnivorous plant whose leaves are covered with brightly colored tentacles and which have drops of a sticky substance secreted by special glands, capable of attracting insects and causing them to remain trapped and subsequently secreting juices similar to trypsin , thanks to which they digest insects.
To facilitate this last phase, the leaf in which the insect is trapped tends to curl, enveloping it, over a period of time that can vary, even lasting 14 hours.
Flowering occurs in spring and summer and generally lasts about 3 days. The flowers will then wither, starting the seed development phase.
