Variety of sundew capensis which becomes very red if exposed to full sun and especially during the autumn months. Subtropical sundews are carnivorous plants that produce glue drops in the leaf to capture and digest small insects that they feed on. They have adapted to a warm climate similar to the tropical one, however characterized by cool but not harsh winters. However, in cultivation they also resist short frosts withoutany problem.
