This plant makes an excellent tankmate for Sarracenia. It's not a carnivorous plant, but it grows well in peat or peat and perlite, and in the same humidity, temperature, and light conditions as sarracenia. It also thrives in shade. It has a slow growth rate, even in terms of roots, compared to other bulrushes. Its flowers are yellow.
