Paphiopedilum Orchid
Paphiopedilum Orchid
LADY'S SLIPPER ORCHID
This magnificent orchid lives in very rainy areas, so it appreciates frequent misting and temperatures above 15 degrees up to 30.
Its cultivation is very similar to nepenthes, with humid, warm climates and monthly fertilizations, especially in the warm months and periods of maximum plant activity.
It prefers indirect but abundant light throughout the year.
Watering, only with rainwater or distilled water, must be carefully controlled; the soil must be just moist but not soggy.
Watering should be more frequent during the summer and windy season than in winter, when orchids need less water; instead, increase misting with distilled or rainwater.
The ideal soil for this orchid is the mix for orchids and nepenthes offered in the materials section, composed of dehydrated sphagnum, bark, peat, and perlite.
Very porous, aerated, but at the same time with a high degree of humidity.
