Highland nepenthes are pitcher-trap carnivorous plants that grow in tropical mountains with warm days and a sharp drop in nighttime temperatures. Ideal temperatures are between 24-26 degrees Celsius (75-79 degrees Fahrenheit) during the day and 12-14 degrees Celsius (54-57 degrees Fahrenheit) at night.
They love the evening humidity which brings relief from the strong daytime sun.
Some species are more tolerant of summer temperatures but extremely hot days above 28 degrees or very cold nights below 8 degrees should be avoided.
Nepenthes intermedia, on the other hand, are more tolerant of daytime heat but cannot tolerate frost or excessively cold evening temperatures.
The ideal temperature for intermediate crops is between 28-30 degrees during the day and 14-16 degrees at night.
