Disa x "Kewensis May"

This magnificent orchid lives in very rainy and humid areas with temperatures above 0 degrees up to 25-28 degrees. It likes abundant direct sun all year round but in the hot months it can be slightly sheltered because it does not like too high temperatures. It can be grown like a marsh plant, with water in the saucer but not as abundant as in sarracenia: one cm in the saucer in summer and half a cm in winter will be enough. Better to use demineralised or rain water but it can also tolerate tap water. Do not fertilize but repot it every spring. The ideal soil for this orchid is the mix for terrestrial orchids and nepenthes proposed in the materials section composed of dehydrated sphagnum moss, bark, peat and perlite. Very porous, ventilated but at the same time with a high degree of humidity.
