Sphagnum is useful when wrapped around the roots of carnivorous plants with very delicate roots. It is mainly used on Nepenthes, Heliamphore, and is essential for Darlingtonia californica. It is an excellent aid for cuttings as it keeps the cuttings hydrated and improves rooting. It has an antifungal effect.
