Spotted begonia
Spotted begonia
Begonia maculata is a plant that really likes humid environments, with abundant diffused light but no direct sunlight with
temperatures above 15-16 degrees.
Avoid drafts and proximity to radiators.
The ideal soil is very draining and does not like water stagnation.
The ideal mix is composed of peat and perlite and universal soil in equal parts.
It is a fast growing plant especially in the summer, so it is advisable to enlarge the pot when the plant has filled the pot with its roots.
Keep the soil just moist in winter and increase the spraying when it is indoors, while in spring and summer you can fertilize and water the plant weekly.
A fertilizer for green plants with a high nitrogen content or osmocote is used (20 pellets every 6 months)
