Collection: Drosera
The sundew is a carnivorous plant whose leaves are covered with brightly colored tentacles and which have drops of a sticky substance secreted by special glands, capable of attracting insects and causing them to remain trapped and subsequently secreting juices similar to trypsin, thanks to which they digest insects. To facilitate this last phase, the leaf in which the insect is trapped tends to curl, enveloping it, over a period of time that can vary, even lasting 14 hours.
Flowering occurs in spring and summer and generally lasts about 3 days. The flowers will then wither, starting the seed development phase.
