Nepenthes

Nepenthes sind fleischfressende Pflanzen, die in Asien heimisch sind. Entlang des Stängels sind wechselständige Blätter angeordnet, deren Mittelader sich über die Spitze hinaus erstreckt und eine Ranke bildet. Die Ranke endet mit einer Falle, einem Sack, der mit einem Deckel ausgestattet ist, der Ascidium genannt wird. Die Insekten werden durch den Nektar angelockt, der von auf den Ascidien verstreuten Drüsen abgesondert wird, und gelangen in das Innere, wo sie von einer Flüssigkeit verdaut und von der Pflanze aufgenommen werden.
